ANNUAL MASS RETURN/IKEJI FESTIVAL: HON.ANTHONY NWANKWO EXTOLS AWGU EGBELELI FOR UPHOLDING CULTURAL HERITAGE,Presents trophy to the winnerr of the festival football tournament

It was an atmosphere of celebration and spectacular display of cultural heritage as NdI Awgu Egbeleli gathered at the popular Orie Awgu Market square to  celebrate the grand finale of her week long Annual Mass Return and Ikeji Festival held yesterday, 8th of July, 2023. 

The honourable member representing Awgu South State Constituency, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo with his entourage honoured the event to celebrate with NdI Awgu Egbeleli.

While speaking at the occasion, Hon.Anthony Nwankwo appreciated the historical importance  Awgu Egbeleli occupies in the political history of Enugu state and as the capital of Awgu local government. He congratulated the people for their historical success in keeping their cultural heritage and maintaining their identity stating that our culture is our identity and must be preserved.

He went further to assure them of his readiness to always represent their interest at the Enugu State House of Assembly as he solicit for their continued support to deliver on their sacred mandate. 

The highpoint of the event was his  presentation of medals and trophy to the winner of the football tournament which was part of the week long celebration. 

Other important dignitaries that graced the occasion are the chairman of Awgu local government, Hon.Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, Hon. Lotanna Ogbonnia, the deputy chairman of Awgu local government, Hon. Nelson Uduji, former member Enugu State House of Assembly, Awgu South Constituency and other distinguished personalities.
